"Green" Resident of the Month
This month we honor Svetlana Wasserman. Born in Ukraine, she immigrated to the United States when she was five years old and has lived in the Town of Mamaroneck for the last 15 years. She is an avid conservationist and volunteer naturalist at the Sheldrake Nature Center. Svetlana can often be seen collecting litter on Fenimore Road with her two children. Svetlana has recently jumped into the RBI (Reusable Bag Initiative) helping the Town gather support for plastic bag legislation. She initiated petitions, is collecting signatures, and is always ready to assist in any way that she can.
Food Pantry is Here to Help
As you may know, food pantries and similar agencies across the country have been providing help to households financially affected by the shutdown. Along with their twice monthly food distributions, the Larchmont Mamaroneck Hunger Task Force also offers a monthly Mobile Food Pantry and a monthly "Fresh Market" produce distribution to the community. If you need assistance, or know someone who does, please contact the food pantry at 698-3558 for more information, or visit their website at http://lmfoodpantry.org/.
