Billing Information

The Ambulance District provides high-quality lifesaving services regardless of the patient's ability to pay for these services. Patient care is, and will always be, our first priority. The cost of maintaining these skilled services is supplied by user charges (about 2/3) and property taxes (about 1/3). Lastly, donations provide the vital supplemental funding needed for capital improvement.

User Charges

All patients transported by Larchmont/Town of Mamaroneck Volunteer Ambulance Corps (LVAC) and Village of Mamaroneck Emergency Medical Services (MEMS) are billed for user charges. These fees are consistent with surrounding municipalities - in fact, they're the lowest in Westchester County. Billing reflects services provided, based on patient condition and transport mileage to the emergency department.

Donations

Above all, it is the membership of the community that makes the ambulance corps possible. Donations are an essential source of funding for capital items and equipment, such as new ambulances. Donations are also important in efforts to recruit and retain volunteers to serve as EMTs, drivers and team officers.
