Community Services

The Community Services Office was established in 1976 to provide information, referral and supportive services to residents of the Town of Mamaroneck, Village of Mamaroneck and Village of Larchmont. The Town operates a Senior Center, a Meals on Wheels program and 647 Housing Choice Vouchers that provide rental assistance to low income households.

The US Department of Housing and Urban Development contracts with the Town of Mamaroneck annually to provide funding to administer 647 Housing Choice Vouchers.  Housing Choice Vouchers allow recipients to live in any market rate apartment, where the tenant pays approximately 30% of their income toward rent, and the voucher pays the remaining rent directly to the landlord.

The Cambium has 8 one-bedroom and 2 two-bedroom affordable housing units for tenants whose income is at 80% or below of the median income.

Hommocks Park Apartments has 15 affordable units set aside for Housing Choice Voucher holders,
Marina Court and Grand Street Lofts each have 1 one-bedroom unit and 1 two bedroom units in the Village of Mamaroneck.

The Community Service Office also helps coordinate annual holiday gift‐giving projects, in partnership with the American Legion Post 90, local schools, and other community groups for individuals and families in need. Families selected are asked to submit a "wish list" to Community Services and an anonymous list is then shared with the congregants of several religious organizations and employees of the Town of Mamaroneck who participate in the effort by purchasing, wrapping, and donating new clothing, toys, gift cards, and gift baskets for local families and senior citizens to ensure these families enjoy a festive holiday season.
