Town Clerk

The Town Clerk is an elected official who serves a four-year term. The Town Clerk serves residents directly through the issuance of licenses and permits as well as serving as the Town's Records Management Officer. In addition, the Town Clerk serves the Town Board as the recording secretary for all their proceedings and decisions.

The Town Clerk's office is open by appointment Monday through Friday 8:30am to 4:30pm.

Marriage Licenses

The Town Clerk's office issues marriage licenses for both residents and non-residents of the Town. We take appointments for in person applications Monday's 1pm-3pm, Wednesday's 11am-1pm & Friday's 9am-11am.  Before you call for an appointment, make sure you have an original or certified copy of your birth certificate. In addition, the Town Clerk is a Marriage Officer who performs wedding ceremonies.  Currently, wedding ceremonies are performed outside, with masks, with 10 or less people in attendance.

Birth, Marriage, and Death Records

As Town Clerk and Registrar of Vital Statistics the Clerk has the responsibility of issuing and maintaining birth, marriage, and death records. The Town Clerk holds these records dating from 1881.

Other Licenses

The Town Clerk issues licenses and permits for the State, County and local municipality, including but not limited to licensing for Dogs and Peddling Licenses  as well as permits for Alarms, Garage Sales and Block Parties.  Please note, at the moment due to the COVID-19 Pandemic, we will not be approving Block Parties, Garage Sales or Peddling Licenses (with the exception of Ice Crean and Food Trucks).

Parking Permits

Parking permits are issued through the Town Clerk's Office for Commuter Lot No. 1 (Myrtle Boulevard and Vine Street), Area Business for Lot No. 2 (Maxwell Street) and Overnight and 24-Hour for Lot No. 3 and Lot No. 4 (Myrtle Boulevard).

FOIL Requests

The Town Clerk is the Freedom of Information Officer, liaison to the Board of Elections and holds the designation of Notary as well as the certifications of Registered Municipal Clerk (RMC) and Certified Municipal Clerk (CMC).
