Murray Green Tigers Reinstate Waste-Free Wednesdays

In an effort to reduce, reuse, and recycle, Murray Avenue Elementary School Green Tigers have reinstated Waste-Free Wednesdays. Families are encouraged to pack only reusable containers for snack and lunch each Wednesday. This means no zip-lock bags, foil, single-use, or individually wrapped food items. As waste includes not just wrapper waste but also food waste, the weekly school newsletter also encourages parents to take the opportunity to speak with their children about what they like to eat and what they throw away at school.
