Community Needs Survey

Community Needs Survey

We have undertaken an update of our Comprehensive Plan (Plan). Together Our Mamaroneck (T.O.M.) is the process for this project. The objective of this process is to understand community needs as a starting point for creating a Comprehensive Plan that will guide the Town’s future decision-making.

During the last few months, we held five public events to gather resident feedback. These open houses and workshops took place at the Town of Mamaroneck High School and Washington Square Neighborhood on May 5, 2022, and the Mamaroneck Senior Center, Weaver Street Fire House, and Hommock’s Park Ice Rink on May 24, 2022.

Members of the Town’s Comprehensive Plan Committee welcomed residents to these events, and staff from the Land Use Law Center facilitated. At each event, residents participated by visiting five stations covering different topic areas, such as housing and community services, and each station displayed a poster board that posed questions for participants to answer.

Participants divided into small groups to enhance effective conversation with facilitators and wrote their answers on post-it notes, which were affixed to the poster boards at each station. A trained facilitator chatted with small groups, explained the activity, and recorded further input on large flip charts.

The objective of these in-person events was to understand community needs as a starting point for creating a Comprehensive Plan that will guide the Town’s future decision-making. This survey provides a synthesis of the community needs raised by residents to date. It is also an opportunity for additional community input, especially from community members who were not able to join the in-person events. Please feel free to review the most current Existing Conditions Assessment for the Town of Mamaroneck.

Together Our Mamaroneck (T.O.M.) would like to know what you think! This survey provides a synthesis of the community needs raised by residents to date. It is also an opportunity for additional community input, especially from community members who were not able to join the in-person events. Please take 5-10 minutes to check all of the boxes below indicating the needs of the Town that you think are important and should be addressed.
